Why now

A phased change, not one single deadline.

ESPR creates the framework. Detailed obligations will arrive through product-specific acts. The dates below distinguish a confirmed obligation from the Commission’s indicative dates for adopting future rules.

Certain EV, industrial and LMT batteries18 February 2027Battery passport requirement confirmed in the Batteries Regulation.
Textiles / apparelIndicative act adoption: 2027Requirements and transition period still depend on the product-specific act.
TyresIndicative act adoption: 2027The date is for adoption of rules, not an automatic universal DPP deadline.
FurnitureIndicative act adoption: 2028Businesses can prepare data now; final duties are not yet defined.
MattressesIndicative act adoption: 2029Final scope, data and application date will follow the future act.

Why FIDATRA Passport

Start with what is useful today.

Structured product identity

GTIN support, GS1 Digital Link resolution and model, batch or item-level passport preparation are available. Category-specific EU schemas remain on the roadmap.

Accessible early access

Start without an enterprise-scale implementation project. Final commercial plans and limits will be published before general availability.

Prepare before the rule lands

Build a clean product catalogue, lifecycle history and public passport now, then adapt as category-specific requirements become final.

How it works

From product record to customer access.

01

Register the product

Create the model and each physical product, with serial, lot and GTIN when available.

02

Issue the QR

Generate a verifiable QR credential connected to the product’s TraceID.

03

Publish the passport

Present product information, documents, origin and lifecycle data in a clear public page.

04

Manage after-sale

Keep warranty, ownership and maintenance history connected to the same product identity.

FAQ for SMEs

Practical questions, clear answers.

How much does it cost?

Early access starts free. Pricing and plan limits may change before general availability; we will communicate them before they affect your account.

How long does implementation take?

You can create a product and public passport without a custom integration. Larger catalogues, data cleanup and ERP connections take longer and should be planned separately.

Is a DPP already mandatory for my products?

It depends on the category and applicable EU act. Certain batteries have a confirmed passport requirement from 18 February 2027. For other categories, monitor the specific delegated act rather than relying on the working-plan year alone.

What happens if I do not register now?

Registering with FIDATRA is not itself a legal requirement. Starting early can reduce later data work, but your legal obligation and compliance date come from EU or sector-specific law.

Does FIDATRA guarantee ESPR compliance?

No software alone can guarantee compliance before category rules and your product data are assessed. FIDATRA provides product identity and passport infrastructure designed to evolve with those requirements.
